Empire and mouz make it through

21.10.2023
The group stage of the RaidCall ESL Major Series One is coming to an end this week, and we have a pretty interesting group coming up. Who will be the last European teams to go through to the LAN finals?

UPDATE2: Team Empire turned out to be the first team to secure their spot at the LAN finals! They defeated mousesports with 2–0. In the loser's match, ESFX PowerRangers rather surprisingly fell to Team Property BB2, who also showed a pretty strong performance in their following match against mouz.

However, the new team of Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen didn't disappoint and defeated the Swedes with 2–0. This means that our reigning champions will be present at the LAN finals once again to defend their title against the world's best teams.

UPDATE1: As to be expected, mousesports and Team Empire were victorious. Tomorrow, the Danish team will face the Russians at 18:00 CEST, with the winner receiving a spot at the LAN finals. After that, the losers Team Property BB2 and ESFX PowerRangers will fight for their life, and the winner of this match will then face the loser of our first match to determine who receives the second spot.

Meanwhile, we unfortunately have to postpone the deciding match of Group B again. Team Menace was unable to show up at the agreed date and will receive (prize-money-reducing) penalty points accordingly. The match will now take place Thursday at 20:00 CEST.

mousesports' new all-Danish line-up certainly has its merits, but the favorite to top the group is Team Empire, who play extremely strong since the creation of the line-up. And yet, ESFX PowerRangers also showed some impressive results lately, including victories over Na`Vi, Alliance and fnatic. Will the Belarusians potentially qualify for their first major championship? Or will the Swedish Team Property BB2 cause some crucial upsets and go to the finals a second time after attending under the name dargoneblaydes the last time? Today and tomorrow, we will find out!

Both days will be action-filled: Starting at 18:00 CEST today, we will show you three Best-of-3 matches, all played back-to-back. We start off with mouz vs. prOp, followed by the highly anticipated showdown between Empire and PowerRangers. We will also play the deciding last match of Group B between Flip.Sid3 Tactics and Team Menace right after both matches from Group B – it is scheduled to start no earlier than 22:00 CEST. Be sure to tune in!
